Dr. Kenneth E. Fasanella gives a presentation on how to understand the functional anatomy of the stomach, pertaining to acid secretion, as well as understanding the physiology of GERD.

Educational objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Appropriately identify patients with GERD who should undergo more invasive testing
  • Risk stratify patients who are high risk for NSAID use and should be started on prophylactic PPI use
  • Familiar with recently published guidelines updating treatment of Helicobacter pylori
