Minimally Invasive Salivary Endoscopy

Dr. Schaitkin provides an overview of Salivary Endoscopy and its history and anatomy. He discusses radiology, technique, and other modalities. Results and complications are also covered.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Improve use of diagnostic imaging for inflammatory salivary gland disease
  • Improve patient outcomes by avoiding extirpative surgery
  • Describe minimally invasive management of inflammatory salivary gland diseases

Barry Schaitkin, MD Dr.Schaitkin is a professor of otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He has served as the director of the UPMC Shadyside Facial Paralysis Center since 1991, and serves as the co-director of the UPMC Salivary Gland Stone and Infection Center.
