Bio:
After completing medical school at Kasturba Medical College, Dr. Shamir began to work as a Resident Intern. He then worked as a junior resident in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Kasturba Medical College Hospital. In addition, he was a public health volunteer for the Department of Preventative Medicine assisting with Chikungunya Epidemic Screenings. He worked on and published a retrospective study on CNS toxoplasmosis. Dr. Shamir also worked as a resident at Father Mullers Medical College (India) in Nephrology before traveling to the United States. Dr. Shamir relocated to Baltimore, Maryland for his Internal Medicine Residency at Good Samaritan Hospital, which he completed in 2015. He is currently completing his training as a Renal-Electrolyte Fellow at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In his spare time, Roy enjoys traveling, ballroom dancing, latin dancing, international movies and music. In addition to English, he speaks Hindi, Kannada, and Konkani.
