Clark A. Rosen, MD

Clark A. Rosen, M.D., has been associate professor of otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and medical director of the University of Pittsburgh's Voice Center at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Eye & Ear Institute since 1995.

As medical director of the Voice Center, Dr. Rosen's primary research and clinical interest is the prevention and treatment of vocal cord injury and voice preservation. Dr. Rosen, whose clinical practice is devoted exclusively to voice disorders, serves as physician to performers in the Pittsburgh Opera.

Dr. Rosen earned his medical degree in 1989 at Rush University, Rush Medical College in Chicago. He completed an otolaryngology/head and neck surgery residency at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, then a fellowship in laryngology and care of the professional voice at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.

Dr. Rosen's professional memberships include the American Academy of otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery; the American College of Surgeons; Pittsburgh Otological Society; and The Voice Foundation. He is a member of the scientific advisory board of The Voice Foundation.

He is a frequent presenter at international and national meetings on voice disorders as well as educational forums for professional vocalists. He has contributed to or authored numerous articles for medical/surgical publications related to vocal cord care. In addition, Dr. Rosen recently co-authored a major textbook on voice disorders with Thomas Murry, Ph.D.
