Dr. Elnicki directs the Section of General Internal Medicine at UPMC Shadyside and also directs the School of Medicine's Combined Ambulatory Medicine Pediatrics Clerkship. His chief clinical interest is hypertension, and he has received the American Society of Hypertension designation as a specialist in clinical hypertension. His chief academic interest is medical education. He has published numerous articles on curriculum development and evaluation and on clinical instruction of medical students and residents. He has served as president of the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine and currently serves on the Research in Medical Education Committee of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
