    Dr. Michel Makaroun is professor and chair of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and director of Endovascular Surgery at UPMC. He also serves as co-director of the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and program director for the vascular surgery training programs at UPMC. A specialist in endovascular treatment of aneurysms, Dr. Makaroun?s primary research interest is in the endovascular and surgical repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms. He also is interested in carotid artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and hemodialysis access. Dr. Makaroun completed his postgraduate training at the American University of Beirut and UPMC. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the Vascular Surgery Board.
