Dr. Lamberty completed his undergraduate education at Brown University in 1992 with an Sc.B in psychology  He then graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1997.  He completed a categorical residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh 2000.  He remained at the University of Pittsburgh to complete a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.  Working with Joseph Pilewski, MD, he completed an additional fellowship year in research focusing on airway epithelial water transport and mucus clearance.  This training was funded by the Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA by the NHLBI and was finished in September of 2004.  Subsequently, he received an appointment as Instructor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine.  In 2005 he was promoted to Assistant Professor of Medicine.
