Sleep Medicine Institute
The University of Pittsburgh Sleep Medicine Institute (UPSMI) is an integrated, multidisciplinary program encompassing research, teaching, and clinical care.
UPSMI is the first center of excellence established by the University’s NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). The Institute leverages the expertise, infrastructure, and resources of the CTSI and its partners to offer multidisciplinary training opportunities for young researchers; support collaborative research initiatives across the lifespan with investigators from a wide range of disciplines; and to translate promising new treatments into practice.

Organizationally, the Institute’s focus on the complex association of sleep disorders, health, and disease, brings together experts engaged in research, clinical care, and educational programs throughout the University’s Schools of the Health Sciences. The formalization of this multidisciplinary institute integrates diverse strengths in sleep medicine including:

  • UPMC Sleep Center
