Dr. Duarte RojoThe Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition congratulates Andres Duarte-Rojo, MD, PhD, FAASLD, for being inducted as an American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD) Fellow.  

AASLD Fellowship is the highest honor among AASLD membership categories, and this award recognizes superior professional achievement in clinical or academic practice, and in basic or clinical research. AASLD Fellowship is awarded to members who have made a significant contribution to the knowledge and practice of liver and biliary diseases and are considered leaders in the field.

About Dr. Duarte-Rojo

Dr. Duarte-Rojo is a board-certified transplant hepatologist whose clinical interests include complications of cirrhosis and portal hypertension, comprehensive care of waitlisted candidates with advanced liver disease, and non-invasive liver disease assessment (NILDA).

Using clinimetrics — the practice of assessing or describing symptoms, signs, and laboratory findings by means of scales, indices, and other quantitative instruments — and a patient-centered approach, Dr. Duarte-Rojo aims to better target diagnostic and treatment endpoints to advance the care of patients with cirrhosis and improve clinical outcomes in liver transplantation.
