John Thomas Schindler, MD, is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His current clinical focus is around the individualized treatment of patients with valvular heart disease and which minimally invasive therapies are most effective.
Dr. Schindler provides comprehensive care to patients with a myriad of cardiovascular disease. He has a robust clinical practice in treating those patients with coronary and peripheral vascular disease. He has been an advocate for utilizing the radial artery when performing cardiac catheterizations in order to improve the outcomes and comfort for his patients who require such treatment. Dr. Schindler is also heavily engaged in the treatment of those patients with the most difficult to control hypertension which is also known as resistant hypertension. He has participated in clinical trials evaluating new therapies beyond medications.
