In this CME, Kathryn Schmitz, PhD, MPH, discusses how to increase knowledge of the research evidence base regarding the value of exercise during and after cancer treatment, the national recommendations for exercise among people living with and beyond cancer from multiple medical organizations, and how the UPMC Hillman Moving Through Cancer program structures their exercise oncology program.

 

Educational Objectives 

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Increase knowledge of the research evidence base regarding the value of exercise during and after cancer treatment.

  • Recall understanding of national recommendations for exercise among people living with and beyond cancer from multiple medical organizations.

  • Enrich understanding of the Hillman Moving Through Cancer program as an example of a functioning exercise oncology program.
