Pharmacotherapy Pearls

Heather Sakely, PharmD, BCPS, Director of the Geriatric Pharmacotherapy and PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacy Residency, presents on the geriatric pharmacotherapy pearls. Dr. Sakely goes through several patient cases and outlines vaccine regimens, therapeutic options, and medication information resources.

Educational objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Design vaccine regimens using the latest pneumococcal vaccine schedule.
  • Identify therapeutic options for venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis in skilled nursing facility (SNF) residents.
  • Identify and critically appraise the usefulness of medication information resources.
