Dr. Diler explains methods of diagnosing bipolar disorder (BD) in children and emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis in children and adolescents.

Educational objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Integrate the base rate of bipolar disorder (BD) in youth when evaluating the risks for the BD diagnosis
  • Increase diagnostic accuracy by identifying core symptoms of bipolar disorder (BD) in youth
  • Improve patient outcomes by identifying the risk factors associated with course and outcome of bipolar disorder (BD) in youth
