  • Recognize some of the benefits of utilizing robotic surgery for the complex procedure of esophagectomy
  • Explain why receiving a lung transplant from an HCV+ donor is safe and should be considered to increase the likelihood of an organ transplant
  • Describe the intraoperative, perioperative, and short-term benefits of LVAD implantation without a complete sternotomy
  • Analyze the potential advantages of planned sequential heart operations to repair Ebstein’s anomaly and restore biventricular circulation
  • Explain why completely minimally invasive coronary artery bypass and mitral valve surgery is only possible with robot-assisted surgery
  • Provide justification for wet- and dry-lab simulation training when preparing for robotic CAB and MV surgery
