Dr. Kimberly Clinebell and Ana M. Lupu, PharmD discuss how reducing anticholinergic medications for extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) can improve clinical outcomes and quality of life in patients on antipsychotics.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the pharmacology of anticholinergic medications, including peripheral and central effects
  • Recognize anticholinergic burden and impact on clinical outcomes
  • Describe how reducing anticholinergic medications for EPS can improve clinical outcomes and quality of life in patients on antipsychotics
