Course Description

Asynchronous, fully virtual, multi-disciplinary CME conference intended for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthetists practicing in both inpatient and outpatient settings developed and led by expert APPs. This year’s course aims to elevate clinical excellence, enhance leadership capability, and gain valuable knowledge of current and emerging trends in healthcare. This course supports confident and high quality care across clinical settings.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Have improved confidence.in applying clinical knowledge and technical skills for a wide range of topics for both impatient and outpatient clinical diagnoses
  • Have gained insight into evidence based best practices
  • Have strengthened legal literacy, reduction of liability, and promote safe compliant practice
  • Have improved documentation accuracy, enhanced communication of clinical reasoning, and optimize billing practices
  • Have improved long term financial security and reduce stress related to financial decision making

Featured Keynote Address, October 28, 2026

Christian Carmody, senior vice president, UPMC Information Technology Division; chief technology officer, UPMC will be speaking in person at Assembly Hall at UPMC Passavant on October 28, 2026. This keynote session will cover artificial intelligence in the health care industry. A livestream of the lecture will be made available via Teams for all non-Passavant APPs who wish to attend.

Who Should Attend

This asynchronous course is intended for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthetists clinically practicing in both inpatient and outpatient medicine.
