Virtual Attendance: Attend the two-day virtual conference at no cost. The conference will be streamed live from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8 and Thursday, Oct. 9.

In-Person Attendance with ECMO Simulation ($200*): Will be held at the John G. Rangos, Sr. Conference Center at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Only 24 spaces are available for this option with a complete day of Neonatal and Pediatric ECMO simulation. In addition to the didactic sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, in-person attendees will have a full day of Neonatal and Pediatric ECMO Simulation on Friday, Oct. 10. Following ELSO’s Guidelines for Training and Education for ECMO Specialists, simulations will be focused on air embolism, pump failure, gas failure, membrane lung failure, drainage insufficiency, and accidental decannulation.

Interested in a Neonatal and Pediatric ECMO Cannulation Workshop? We have an option for you. Join us on Saturday, Oct. 11 for the Neonatal and Pediatric ECMO Cannulation Workshop ($1500). Each learner will cannulate four simulation models during this hands-on workshop. Each session will start with a clinical scenario followed by group discussion on ECMO mode, cannula selection, and cannulation strategy. Only 16 spaces are available for this opportunity.

Overview

The 16th Annual Neonatal and Pediatric ECLS Educational Conference is dedicated to providing high quality educational opportunities to clinicians committed to caring for children requiring extracorporeal life support (ECLS) therapies including, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and ventricular assist device (VAD) support.

This course is designed to provide an interactive educational activity that brings together a multidisciplinary group of health care providers who embrace the challenges of caring for patients receiving ECLS therapies. The virtual platform allows providers worldwide to participate in the interactive sessions.

We have put together an exciting program that includes lectures on the following topics:

The conference is intended for ECMO specialists, neonatologists, pediatric and adult critical care physicians, pediatric and adult surgeons, perfusionists, advanced practice providers, physician assistants, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and any other professionals interested in neonatal and pediatric ECLS.

Continuing Medical Education

This activity is approved for the following credit: AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM, ANCC, and AAPA Category 1 CME. Other health care professionals will receive a certificate of attendance confirming the number of contact hours commensurate with the extent of participation in this activity.
