Speakers typically discuss topics that have been recommended by the community or that providers feel is lacking in the patients they see on a daily basis.

Objective: The learner will gain insight on the indication and effectiveness of approved device therapies for heart failure. We will also review the status of ongoing clinical trials for novel devices in the treatment of heart failure.

1. Provide an update on approved devices in the treatment of heart failure.
2. Review the indication and effectiveness of these therapies.
3. Review the results of recently completed clinical trials for novel device-based therapies.
4. Review the status of ongoing clinical trials for heart failure at UPMC.

“Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies - Ready for Prime Time?”

Objective: The learner will gain insight on performing transcatheter mitral and tricuspid interventions safely and effectively. We will also discuss the future of therapies and emerging trials.

1. Discuss mitral and tricuspid therapies current progress and what’s beyond transcatheter edge to edge therapies.
2. Review tricuspid regurgitation referral: who, when, and why.
3. Discuss the future of mitral/tricuspid therapies including earlier intervention, novel devices, and emerging trials.
