Danny Chu, MD, FACS, FAHA, Named President-Elect of the Society of University Surgeons

The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute congratulates Danny Chu, MD, FACS, FAHA, on being named President-Elect of the Society of University Surgeons (SUS). This distinguished appointment places Dr. Chu amongst an esteemed legacy of surgeons from UPMC who have previously led the SUS.

The mission of the SUS is to promote excellence and leadership in academic surgery. The organization is dedicated to the advancement of the surgical sciences through membership, scholarship, and professional development.

Dr. Chu is a cardiac surgeon and influential surgical leader. He serves as the director of the UPMC Ozaki Center of Excellence and the director of Cardiac Surgery at the Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System.
