UPMC Children’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Faculty Appointed to ASPHO Education Committee

Erika Friehling, MD, MS, associate professor of pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh was appointed as vice chair of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) Education Committee.

Dr. Friehling will serve as vice chair through the 2023 annual conference of the society, followed by an automatic term as committee chair through 2024 with a one-year renewal option. This volunteer position aids various initiatives overseen by the ASPHO Board of Trustees.

In addition to her role as associate professor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, Dr. Friehling is the Division’s Fellowship Program Director, and associate vice chair of faculty development for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
