David J. Levinthal, MD, PhD, director, UPMC Neurogastroenterology & Motility Center and co-director, UPMC Program for Gut-Brain Health, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG).
The American College of Gastroenterology is a multidisciplinary member organization that aims to advance the field of clinical gastroenterology and support medical professionals dedicated to the care of digestive disorders. Fellows are members who have demonstrated a commitment to continuing education, professional leadership, and excellence in clinical gastroenterology or academic medicine.
In addition to his clinical leadership roles, Dr. Levinthal serves as associate professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
As an international expert in cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS), Dr. Levinthal is dedicated to improving clinical recognition of this condition, thereby enhancing patient access to treatment.
Dr. Levinthal received his bachelor’s degree in nutritional sciences from Cornell University. He then completed his doctorate in neuroscience and his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
