Image of Julia Y. McNabb-Baltar, MD, MPH.Julia Y. McNabb-Baltar, MD, MPH, associate professor of medicine, the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG).

As a gastroenterologist, Dr. McNabb-Baltar’s clinical specialty includes medical pancreatology and general gastroenterology. She sees patients at UPMC Digestive Health Care at UPMC Presbyterian.

Dr. McNabb-Baltar’s recent research publications have explored trends in the screening and management of acute and chronic pancreatitis, as well as the role of biomarkers in pancreatic cyst classification.

The American College of Gastroenterology is a multidisciplinary member organization that aims to advance the field of clinical gastroenterology, including patient care, research, advocacy, and education. Fellows are members who have demonstrated a commitment to professional leadership, continuing education experience, and excellence in clinical gastroenterology.

Dr. McNabb-Baltar received her diploma of college studies (DEC) from College Jean-de-Brebeuf in Montreal, Canada. She completed her medical degree at Universite de Montreal and her master’s degree in public health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
