The University of Pittsburgh Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery is one of the leading clinical, basic, and translational research programs in the United States and it was recently ranked #3 in otolaryngology in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for 2025.

“This success is built upon our Head and Neck Cancer SPORE program, one of only three such programs in the United States, in collaboration with the Department of Radiation Oncology,” says José P. Zevallos, MD, MPH, FACS, professor, Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery; The Eugene N.
