The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute in Central Pa. is excited to announce that Maseer A. Bade, MD, has been named director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery for the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute at UPMC Memorial and UPMC Hanover.
Dr. Bade is a vascular & endovascular surgeon and is certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).
Dr. Bade received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. From there, Dr. Bade completed a vascular surgery research fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, and a cardiothoracic surgery research fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in the City of New York. Finally, he completed a vascular and endovascular surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Systems in Baltimore.
Dr. Bade has over 20 years of experience managing complex vascular disease using both endovascular and open surgical techniques. His clinical expertise spans abdominal and thoracic aortic disease and aneurysms, carotid disease, peripheral arterial disease, venous disease, and dialysis access. He joined from Northern Va., where he was a partner at Cardiac, Vascular & Thoracic Surgery Associates, P.C., and later practiced within Inova Vascular at the Inova Health System.
At Inova, Dr. Bade performed the institution’s first transfemoral carotid artery stenting (CAS), thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), and transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR), subsequently building and leading these programs. An experienced educator and industry advisor, he has held clinical assistant professorships at VCU, Howard University, and UVA, trained surgical trainees for more than two decades, and has been consistently recognized as a Top Doctor in Vascular Surgery by multiple publications.

Under Dr. Bade’s leadership, the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute in Central Pa. will continue to provide innovative and advanced care to patients with the full spectrum of vascular disease.
