Freddie Fu, MD, Guest Speaker on IODA’s Mentorship to Support Diversity Global Panel

Dr. Freddie FuFreddie Fu, MD, chair of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, participated in the International Orthopaedic Diversity Alliance (IODA) global panel. IODA was founded in 2019 to advance the inclusion of women and under-represented minorities in orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Fu shared his experiences mentoring up-and-coming residents and fellows of diverse backgrounds. 

A champion of collaboration to improve diversity in orthopaedics, Dr. Fu oversees one of the top and most ethnical and gender-diverse orthopaedic residency training programs in the country. The program attracts the best and brightest young surgeons and researchers from the U.S. and abroad, and for this, Dr. Fu received the 2011 American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Diversity Award.
