The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute in Central Pa. is excited to welcome Maria Camila Castello Ramirez, MD, RPVI, FACS, to our expert team of vascular surgeons. Dr. Castello Ramirez joins a team of dedicated vascular surgeons who provide innovative and advanced care to patients with the full spectrum of vascular conditions.
Dr. Castello Ramirez is a board-certified vascular surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease. She earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, followed by a residency in general surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She then completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
She has a special interest in the treatment of complex aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and addressing health and gender disparities in vascular care. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, enabling her to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse population. Known for her caring and empathetic approach, Dr. Castello Ramirez is committed to delivering personalized, high-quality vascular care while helping patients make informed decisions about their health.
