UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute Receives STS Adult Cardiac Surgery Star Ratings

The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute is home to world-renowned leaders in adult cardiac surgery. We are proud to announce that UPMC has been awarded the highest possible rating of three stars in three procedures across five different UPMC locations by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS).

• UPMC Altoona: Multi-procedural composite measures, which involves a combination of all cardiac procedures, including valves and coronary bypass surgeries
• UPMC Harrisburg: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting, Mitral Valve Replacement/Repair, and multi-procedural composite measures, which involves a combination of all cardiac procedures, including valves and coronary bypass surgeries
• UPMC Passavant: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and multi-procedural composite measures, which involves a combination of all cardiac procedures, including valves and coronary bypass surgeries
• UPMC Presbyterian: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and multi-procedural composite measures, which involves a combination of all cardiac procedures, including valves and coronary bypass surgeries
• UPMC Washington: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and multi-procedural composite measures, which involves a combination of all cardiac procedures, including valves and coronary bypass surgeries
