UPMC Children’s Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine Division Welcomes New Physician, Tiffany L. Turner, MD

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is pleased to welcome Tiffany L. Turner, MD.

Dr. Turner earned her medical degree at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine. She then completed her pediatric residency at Akron Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio, followed by a fellowship in pediatric pulmonary medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

Immediately prior to joining UPMC Children’s, Dr. Turner was an assistant professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Indiana University and practiced at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis from 2017 where she was an attending physician in the Section of Pediatric Pulmonology, Sleep and Allergy. Dr. Turner also was associate director of the Home Ventilator Program at Riley Hospital.

From 2011 to 2017, Dr. Turner practiced at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where she was co-medical director of both the Pulmonary-ICU and the Complex Asthma Clinic, in addition to her appointment as assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Turner also has an emphasis on quality improvement, having received advanced training in pediatric asthma quality improvement at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and tracheostomy quality improvement training while practicing at Riley Hospital for Children.

Dr. Turner’s clinical practice is focused on general pediatric pulmonary medicine with an emphasis on interstitial lung disease, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and the management of patients with chronic respiratory failure requiring home ventilator support.

Prior research by Dr. Turner has included studies on oral steroid therapies in children with asthma and numerous investigations involving cystic fibrosis drug trials in pediatric patients with the disease.
