The UPMC Horizon Sleep Center recently earned accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), an organization of more than 11,000 accredited sleep centers and sleep medicine professionals. This designation recognizes sleep facilities that meet rigorous patient care and operational standards.

“Our program is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals experiencing sleep-related disorders,” said Michelle Lum, director of operations, UPMC Horizon and Jameson. “We are proud to bring our team’s expertise to serve members of the community experiencing a range of sleep conditions, including sleep apnea, snoring, insomnia, hypersomnia, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, and parasomnias.”

At the UPMC Horizon Sleep Center, our medical team — including our board-certified medical director, licensed respiratory therapists, and registered polysomnographic technologists — offers complete diagnostic and therapeutic care for all sleep disorders. Our mission is to restore normal, restorative sleep to help improve your patient’s quality of life.

Our program offers a range of diagnostic sleep studies, including overnight polysomnography and multiple sleep latency testing, as well as home sleep testing.

“In 2025, the sleep lab performed 2,253 outpatient sleep studies, and in 2026, year-to-date volume increased by 30%, reflecting growing demand for our services,” said Michelle Lum.
