Image of Andy Wu, MD.The UPMC Center for Liver Care and UPMC Liver Transplant teams are proud to welcome Andy Wu, MD. Dr. Wu specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care of gastrointestinal cancers, in particular, liver cancers.

Clinical, Research, and Academic Experience

Dr. Wu’s clinical training encompasses gastroenterology, transplant hepatology, and transplant oncology. He earned his medical degree at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Wu then completed an internal medicine residency at UPMC, serving as chief medical resident from 2022 to 2023. He also completed a gastroenterology fellowship and a transplant hepatology fellowship at UPMC.

Dr. Wu’s research interests include evaluation of the role of liver transplantation in cancer treatment, especially in patients with advanced malignancies.

He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Transplantation.
