At UPMC, we are committed to providing innovative cardiac care and access to personalized treatment for a range of heart conditions, including advanced heart disease. Achieving this goal requires a collaborative team approach, combining expertise from our specialists at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and the UPMC Heart Transplant Program.

The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute at UPMC Harrisburg is pleased to announce the addition of Amy Goodrich-Harris, DO, to our dedicated team of experts. Dr. Goodrich-Harris received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. From there, Dr. Goodrich-Harris completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pa., and an advanced fellowship in transplant cardiology and advanced heart failure at UPMC.

Dr. Goodrich-Harris is board certified in osteopathic medicine, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, and cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Goodrich-Harris specializes in cardiology and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

As part of the team in Central Pa., Dr. Goodrich-Harris will see patients at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute to provide general cardiology services. She will also see patients at the pre-transplant evaluation clinic at UPMC Harrisburg. This clinic offers patients with advanced heart failure access to pre-transplant testing close to home. If they are approved for transplant, Dr. Goodrich-Harris, alongside Brian Corbally, DO, will partner with Mary Keebler, MD, medical director of the UPMC Advanced Heart Failure Center and UPMC Heart Transplant Program, to seamlessly transition the patient’s care to UPMC Presbyterian for surgery.

With the addition of Dr. Goodrich-Harris, UPMC furthers its mission to improve access to care for patients with advanced heart disease. The team’s combined expertise and commitment to patient care has allowed them to achieve outstanding clinical milestones:

  • UPMC has achieved the top 90-day survival rate in the country for heart transplant, as recognized by the Scientific Registry for Transplant Recipients (SRTR).
  • UPMC was the first center to perform a bloodless combined heart-kidney transplant.
  • UPMC was the first center in the world to perform a successful heart-liver transplant.
  • UPMC was the second center in the world to perform a successful heart-lung transplant.
  • UPMC was the second center in the nation to implant Jarvik Artificial Heart as a bridge-to-transplant.
  • UPMC was the first heart transplant center in Pa. to perform a donation after circulatory death (DCD) heart transplant.
