Jay Chhablani, MD, Inducted into the Retina Hall of Fame

Jay Chhablani, MD, professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and vice chair of clinical trials and director of clinical research at the UPMC Vision Institute, was recently inducted into the Retina Hall of Fame in recognition of his dedication to retinal care and research.

Dr. Chhablani is a vitreo-retinal surgeon specializing in macular disorders, with interests in artificial intelligence, automated retinal image analysis, and advanced imaging techniques. He has published more than 800 articles in peer-reviewed journals and serves on the review boards of several high-impact journals, including Science Translational Medicine and Lancet. He also serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including the American Journal of Ophthalmology.

Established in 2016, the Retina Hall of Fame is a charitable organization that honors exceptional contributions in retina-related clinical care, research, teaching, and leadership throughout history. With his induction into the Retina Hall of Fame, Dr. Chhablani joins an esteemed group of physicians, scientists, and allied health care professionals whose commitment to the field of retinal medicine has changed practice and saved patients from blindness.
