The UPMC Center for Liver Care and UPMC Liver Transplant teams are proud to welcome transplant hepatologist Matthew P. Dukewich, MD, PharmD, MS.
Dr. Dukewich earned his doctorate in pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. He later earned his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Following completion of his medical degree, Dr. Dukewich then completed an internal medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship, a transplant hepatology fellowship, and earned a master’s degree in clinical translational research at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.
Dr. Dukewich’s research explores methods to improve risk prediction in steatotic liver disease as well as identifying factors influencing posttransplant survival and alcohol use in recipients of liver transplant for alcohol-associated hepatitis.
