Ken Nischal MD, FAAP, FRCOphth, Accepted into International Intra-Ocular Implant Club

Ken Nischal MD, FAAP, FRCOphth, has been accepted into the International Intra-Ocular Implant Club (IIIC). This prestigious society accepts only 250 members worldwide. Dr. Nischal is only the second pediatric cataract surgeon to be elected into the club since its inception in 1966.

About Dr. Nischal

Dr. Nischal is chief of the Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus and Adult Motility at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He also directs pediatric program development at the UPMC Eye Center and is a professor of ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Dr. Nischal’s research interests include pediatric cornea and ocular surface disease, pediatric cataracts and glaucoma, ocular genetics, and other rare ocular diseases.

About the IIIC

Founded in 1966, the IIIC supports research and education in the field of intraocular lens implantation, provides an international forum to improve the understanding of intraocular lens implants, and sponsors and advises national societies as they develop.
