Congratulations to Jacqueline Kreutzer, MD, the 2025 recipient of the Advancing Women in Pediatric Medicine and Science Award.
Established in 2023 by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, this award recognizes individuals within the department who have made significant contributions to advancing issues that impact women in pediatric medicine and science.
Dr. Kreutzer serves as co-director of the Heart Institute at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and holds the Peter and Ada Rossin Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cardiology. She is also a professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and division director of cardiology.
Board-certified in both pediatric cardiology and adult congenital heart disease, Dr. Kreutzer has authored close to 100 publications, and has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to education and mentorship. Her influence spans across generations both nationally and internationally. She has also served and continues to serve on many academic committees as well as several editorial positions.
Since assuming leadership of the Division of Cardiology in 2017, Dr. Kreutzer has driven initiatives that have elevated care quality and outcomes. Her collaboration with the Heart Institute and hospital leadership have helped position UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh among the best in the country for cardiology and heart surgery, as evaluated by U.S. News and World Report.
