Adam Slivka, MD, PhD, Honored as ASGE Master Endoscopist

Adam Slivka, MD, PhDThe Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition’s Adam Slivka, MD, PhD, will receive one of the top honors from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE)—the Master Endoscopist Award

This award is presented to clinicians who have made substantial contributions to the goals and ideals of the gastrointestinal profession, sustained throughout long-term excellence in medicine, education, research, practice support, quality and/or advocacy.

Dr. Slivka will receive the Master Endoscopist Award at the ASGE National Meeting in May 2021. 

About Dr. Slivka

Dr. Slivka is a professor of medicine with the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  He also serves as the associate chief of Clinical Affairs in the division and as the medical director of the UPMC Digestive Disorders Center.   

His research interests include non-invasive diagnosis of pancreaticobiliary cancer, development and testing of new drugs and devices used during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and the development of new strategies to treat pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.
