Brodine returns to UPMC Western Psychiatric, where she began her career more than 25 years ago. Since then, her work at UPMC includes nine years in progressive leadership positions building an integrated delivery network of post-acute and rehabilitation services across southwest Pennsylvania, and 16 years as chief operating officer and then president of UPMC Community Provider Services. During that time, she also served as president of UPMC Senior Communities.

“UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital has a long and rich history of strong leadership and innovation in serving the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Brodine. “I am very eager and honored to partner with the other members of this incredible and talented team to continue our mission and grow our legacy.”

In addition to her new role at UPMC Western Psychiatric, Brodine will maintain the leadership position of select UPMC Community Provider Services divisions. She also will remain as president, UPMC Senior Services, where she will continue to oversee UPMC Senior Communities and UPMC Home Healthcare and hospice services.

“Throughout her longstanding career at UPMC, Deborah has proven her outstanding insight in executive leadership, organizational development and multidisciplinary partnerships,” said Leslie C. Davis, senior vice president, UPMC, and executive vice president and chief operating officer, UPMC Health Services Division. “Deborah will expertly lead and oversee the growth of UPMC’s behavioral health services for patients in our region and beyond and continue to enhance the hospital in this ever-changing health care landscape.”
