Dr. David A. Geller received his medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship at UPMC. He is board-certified in surgery and specializes in hepatobiliary and liver transplantation and liver cancer, with particular operative expertise in laparoscopic liver resections and laparoscopic radiofrequency ablations of liver tumors.
Dr. Geller is a member of many professional and scientific societies including the Society of Surgical Oncology, Society of University Surgeons, and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. He has published 320 scientific papers and chapters and is often a guest lecturer speaking on the management of liver tumors, having presented at more than 410 meetings or seminars. He has research grants from the NIH and is active in clinical trials for liver cancer. His research interests include transcriptional regulation of the human iNOS gene, molecular mechanisms of liver injury, and gene therapy for liver cancer.
