    Dr. Sumkin is the Chief of Radiology at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. He completed his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Ohio University in Athens. Dr. Sumkin went on to serve as a chief resident of diagnostic radiology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, before completing an imaging fellowship at the Hospitals of the University Health Center of Pittsburgh. Dr. Sumkin also currently serves as a Professor of Radiology and UPMC Endowed Chair of Women?s Imaging at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, in addition to serving as the Chief of the Women?s Imaging Division for the University of Pittsburgh Department of Radiology. In 2003, Dr. Sumkin was inducted as a fellow into the American College of Radiology. He is board-certified by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and American Board of Radiology, and his current research interests include tomosynthesis and sheer wave elastography, breast MRI, and minimally invasive breast biopsy devices.
