Kadiamada N. Chengappa, MD, is a professor of psychiatry in the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Chengappa studied medicine at the University of Mysore, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Medicine, in India. He went on to complete psychiatry residencies at Dalhousie University, Canada, Edinburgh University, United Kingdom, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, India, and Kasturba Medical College, India. He completed his postdoctoral studies in schizophrenia at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. 

Dr. Chengappa's research interests include schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and smoking cessation in mental illness. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Psychopharmacology, Canadian Psychiatric Association, and the International Society for Bipolar Disorders.
