Profile:

Maryanne J. Henderson, DO is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Henderson received a doctorate of osteopathic medicine in 1990 from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency program at St. Francis Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA in 1995 where she also served as chief resident. She is currently the medical director of the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute at Shadyside Hospital.

Dr. Henderson has been involved in both pediatric and adult rehabilitation medicine during her career and most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer at The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh. Presently Dr. Henderson is developing rehabilitation clinics to meet the needs of adults recovering from serious illness/procedures related to different types of cancer and treatments, and neurological disorders.
