Dr. Mohammad Eslami joined UPMC in April 2016 as a professor of surgery. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his internship and residency in general surgery at University of Chicago. Dr. Eslami completed a research fellowship in thoracic surgery, followed by continued general surgery residency training and a research fellowship in vascular surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He completed his fellowship in vascular surgery at the State University of New York before becoming an attending surgeon at Temple University Medical School Hospitals, Philadelphia, PA.   Following his time at Temple University, Dr. Eslami worked at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Hospitals for seven years and in 2011 joined Boston Medical Center as an associate professor and subsequent program director of their Vascular Surgery Fellowship program.

Dr. Eslami is board-certified in general and vascular surgery. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in vascular and endovascular surgery. His clinical practice includes open surgical and endovascular (minimally invasive) treatment of aneurysms, carotid disease, peripheral vascular disease, and dialysis access.
