Rachel Berger, MD, MPH, an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Clinical and Translational Science at the University Of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and an Associate Director of the Safar Center, was recently appointed the Division Chief of the Child Advocacy Center at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Berger’s research focuses on early detection of child physical abuse using blood biomarkers and other diagnostic tools, and on how to understand the pathophysiology and characterize the epidemiology of abusive head trauma.
