Dr. Glick is a noted expert in the area of pain management, acupuncture and other complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) approaches. He is leading an academic effort in the School of Medicine to study the efficacy of various CAM treatments in a scientific manner.

He has been trained in psychiatry and physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as pain management, utilizes acupuncture in his practice, and is involved in several research studies on the use of acupuncture and other complementary approaches. Dr. Glick also uses an injection technique called prolotherapy that is used for chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions.

Dr. Glick has been on the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine since 1985 and has had appointments in the department of anesthesiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and psychiatry.

Dr. Glick is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry; the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and American Board of Pain Medicine.

A native of Chicago, he is a 1979 graduate of the University of Illinois School of Medicine. He did his residency at Cardinal Glennon Memorial Hospital for Children in St. Louis; Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in general and child psychiatry; UPMC in physical medicine and rehabilitation; as well as training at the Children's Hospital in Boston in pain management.
