Dr. Carty’s research and expertise focus on minimally invasive techniques for parathyroid and thyroid surgery, in the use of molecular markers of malignancy in endocrine tumors, and in the care of patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndromes.
Dr. Carty received her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University and completed her residency in general surgery at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She performed postgraduate work as a surgical oncology fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
She is past President of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Surgical Association, and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Thyroid Association and the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
