Profile:

William J. Ares, MD, began his residency with the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurosurgery in July of 2012.

He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2006 with a degree in psychological and brain sciences and earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont in 2012. During his medical school career Dr. Ares was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and also received an Alpha Omega Alpha Student research fellowship for his work investigating the molecular mechanisms of cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Dr. Ares will spend his PGY-5 and PGY-6 years pursuing subspecialty fellowship training in the field of endovascular neurosurgery.
