In this CME, David Rometo, MD, and Noor Khan, MD, discuss how to apply new evidence-based treatments from the literature to manage obesity and weight related co-morbidities, provide average weight results of different therapies, summarize recent studies and their practical applications for the treatment of obesity in plain language for use in communication with patients, review new treatments in the pipeline for obesity and incorporate a multi-disciplinary treatment approach to obesity after review of literature that includes updates and advances in lifestyle modifications, pharmacotherapy, and surgical interventions.

Educational Objectives 

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply new evidence-based treatments from the literature to manage obesity and weight related co-morbidities, and provide average weight results of different therapies.
  • Summarize recent studies and their practical applications for the treatment of obesity in plain language for use in communication with patients.
  • Review new treatments in the pipeline for obesity.
  • Incorporate a multi-disciplinary treatment approach to obesity after review of literature that includes updates and advances in lifestyle modifications, pharmacotherapy, and surgical interventions
