Donihi, PharmD, discuss the importance of implementing mobile applications for diabetes education, diagnostic skills for masses concerning for paragangliomas and pheochromocytoma, identify recommendations for glycemic measures (HbA1c and preoperative blood glucose) in patients with diabetes undergoing elective surgical procedures, and how to implement an approach to glycemic management for patients with insulin treated diabetes who are admitted to the hospital for non-critical illness.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify recommendations for glycemic measures (HbA1c and preoperative blood glucose) in patients with diabetes undergoing elective surgical procedures 
  • Implement an approach to glycemic management for patients with insulin treated diabetes who are admitted to the hospital for non-critical illness 
  • Recognize the importance of implementing mobile applications for diabetes education
  • Implement diagnostic skills for masses concerning for paragangliomas and pheochromocytoma
