Pediatric Orthopaedic Faculty Present at Recent Conferences and Symposia

Faculty from the Division of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh presented abstracts and gave lectures as several recent conferences and meetings. Below is a summary of the presentations. More information is available at the conference websites.

Associate professor or Orthopaedic Surgery, Ozgur Dede, MD, presented a lecture at the 56th Annual Meeting of the Scoliosis Research Society. Dr. Dede presented during the half-day course on Magnetically Controlled Growing Rods: ‘Best Surgical Technique Practices for MCGR Insertion’. Learn more at the conference website.

Michael P. McClincy, MD, assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery presented at the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) annual meeting held on November 27-28, 2021. Dr. McClincy was a co-chair of the “What’s New In Hip Preservation” symposium in which he gave a lecture on novel cartilage repair techniques. Dr. McClincy also served as a co-chair of the “Hip Instability” symposium. His presentation focused on the effects of femoral version on hip stability.

Orthopaedic surgery research assistant, Ethan Ruh, and assistant professor Michael P. McClincy, MD, presented at the International Society of Hip Preservation (ISHA) 2021 annual meeting held in October. Their presentation, a collaborative effort with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Biodynamics Laboratory (led by William Anderst, PhD) discussed hip biomechanics and hip stability.
