Profile:

Dr. Monga received his medical degree from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, India. He completed postdoctoral fellowships in gastroenterology and molecular biology at Temple University Fels Cancer Institute and Georgetown University Hospital. His final postdoctoral fellowship was at the University of Pittsburgh in the department of Pathology in the area of liver regeneration. 

Dr. Monga is the editor-in-chief of Gene Expression and associate editor for the American Journal of Pathology, Annual Reviews of Pathology, and Seminars in Liver Diseases. He serves various leadership roles within the American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP) and American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD).  

Dr. Monga is the founding director of the Pittsburgh Liver Research Center, a designated core research center of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
